YMCA Serpentine Jarrahdale Community Recreation Centre offers the chance for students to undertake climbing in a safe and friendly environment. Students may come as part of a P.E. or Outdoor Ed program, as an introduction to climbing in preparation for a trip outdoors or just as a class activity or excursion.
We believe that climbing is a fun and exciting way to keep fit, improve confidence and get young people interacting and working together. High school groups that come weekly can also have access to our gymnasium and sports courts, at an extra cost.
As our facility is quiet during the day, we can accommodate large groups. Our staff will run students through belay and safety procedures, and supervise the group while they climb. We recommend that teachers assist us in supervising students - or even participate! And don’t forget to get as many parent helpers along to assist with the belaying also!
Bookings can be made for the year, term or for one-off visits. We offer great discounted rates for school groups, and all climbing is conducted by professional, trained staff. Prices vary according to the range of activities we package together for you, but rest assured that this is an economical excursion option!
