School Engagement Program

Some of the events we carry out include but are not restricted to; giant inflatable fun days, laser tag camps, partnership camps (e.g. cultural awareness training), army reserve survival skill programs, mixed sports days, and the annual teddy bear picnic.

Who are we for?

Sitting under the Building Brighter Futures program, School Engagement is primarily targeted at the primary school age group, but we offer some high school based learning as well.Through this program we also offer parent engagement workshops to work on school readiness and engagement with the parents as well the students.

Where are we?

In the communities of Leonora, Laverton, Menzies, Coolgardie, Kambalda and Kalgoorlie, YMCA WA delivers programs in partnership with the schools during school hours as a bit of a reward / engagement and development program. 

Acknowledgements 

The School Engagement Program is able to be delivered free of charge to participants in the community courtesy of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. The YMCA is incredibly grateful for this partnership as the program benefits the lives of countless young people every week and sees many fantastic results for everyone involved.
