Chris Campbell - President

Chris is an Energy and Resources Executive, qualified as a Chartered Accountant, with over 25 years’ experience in senior operational, commercial and financial roles.

Chris is currently Executive Director, Trading & Portfolio Management at Alinta Energy where he is the Executive responsible for leading the management of Alinta’s energy portfolio across Australia.

Prior to Alinta, Chris held senior financial roles with the US listed, Fortune 500 company, Newmont Corporation, including being CFO of their Indonesian business and Financial Controller of their Australian business, as well as being a Director of their Australian subsidiaries.

 "It is vitally important that all children and youth have a voice that is heard, listened to and acted upon, that they are strongly supported in their development, and that they are provided a safe environment and belong to a community within which they can flourish. As a Director of the Y WA, I commit to doing what I can to ensure this is the case".


Eva Lin - Vice President 

Eva Lin is a Partner at Jackson McDonald, a leading independent Western Australian law firm.  She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia and a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne.

Her practice focuses on commercial dispute resolution and on the areas of energy, financial services, and intellectual property.

She has over ten years of governance experience in the not-for-profit sector, having previously served on the YMCA Council of Governors, and on the boards of International Art Space and Communicare Inc.  

Eva is passionate about the Y’s role in building supportive communities and places throughout Western Australia, especially for our young people.

Kendal Moss - Treasurer

Kendal Moss is a Regional Financial Controller at Multiplex, having joined the team in 2006 after a lengthy and successful international stint with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London, Paris, Belfast and Hong Kong.

As Regional Financial Controller, Kendal is responsible for all financial aspects of the WA Business. This includes strategic and tactical forecasting, management reporting and daily management of cash flows and accounting for all client and supplier transactions. Kendal’s current projects have a contract value in excess of $2bn, which indicates the extensive responsibility she has obtained through her broad experience. Kendal brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with both local and multinational clients to the team.

"As a Director of the Y WA Board, I commit to the Safeguarding Children and Young People framework. It is my responsibility as with everyone involved and connected to the Y movement to uphold the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.  I will incorporate the requirement for safety in my assessment of reports issued to the Y WA Board and decisions made by the Y WA Board so that a culture of safety underpins all that we do". 


Bruce Porter - Director

Bruce is Managing Director of his own property and investment consultancy business and is a licensed real estate valuer and property agent with over 30 years’ experience.

Porter Commercial have developed to become a potent specialist commercial agent offering management, agency, valuation and consultancy services, particularly focussed on shopping centre development/leasing and management and portfolio growth. Bruce is the Boards longest standing member and has been involved with the YMCA for most of his life. He has served on the YMCA WA Board since 2001 and is an honorary Life Member of YMCA WA.

"I have championed the safe guard of children all my life, in the family, in the community, in sport and recreation and through my Directorship with Y WA. Our children are precious and must be allowed to develop in a safe and rewarding community environment". 

 

Jon Bilson - Director

Jon is a business and management psychologist with a unique skill mix. As a holder of an MBA with a long history of business management, he gets businesses of all sizes. As a registered psychologist, however, he also gets the people that make those businesses tick.

Over the last twenty years, Jon has been working as a change manager and coach. After several corporate State Manager roles he now works with Senior Managers to instigate cultural change that lasts, and to generally improve businesses. He’s holistic in the way he does things, looking at the people within the business, projects, developing strategy and commercial awareness, and how everything might be made more innovative. Jon’s psychology background gives him some good insight into how people and all their quirks click together, or don’t.

Jon’s commitment to young people stretches to his role as Director on the board of Dismantle, a like-minded not for profit focused on young people. It is that commitment that makes him a valuable member of the YMCA WA Board.

I am personally committed to ensuring that the voice of young people is heard, respected and valued and that they can be, and do feel, safe at the Y and in our community. We promote a culture of safety that enables and encourages the power of inspired young people to have a lasting positive impact on the world around us".


 Samantha Thompson - Director

Samantha Thompson is the Manager Director at leading town planning and design firm Taylor Burrell Barnett, joining the firm in 1992 before becoming a partner in 2010.

As the Managing Director, Samantha guides the business's strategy and performance while maintaining a project-focused role, working with clients to bring their development visions to reality. During her career she has helped shape some of WA’s iconic projects, including Liveable Neighbourhoods (WAPC operational policy that promotes a new urbanist approach to structure planning and subdivision in WA) and Mandurah Ocean Marina, which was named the best marina in the world, winning the 2011 Marina Excellence Design Jack Nichol Award.

Samantha has over 30 years of urban planning experience and is active across the development industry through her committee membership roles and advocacy with governments to shape policy on planning reform.

She has completed a company director course (AICD) and IAP2 Engagement Certificate as well holding a Bachelor of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning and a Post Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning.  Samantha has previously been a volunteer on the YMCAWA Property advisory committee to help shape their property portfolio.

Samantha is passionate about the Ys purpose and supporting young people to be everything they have the potential to be.

“Feeling safe is the absolute minimum that society should provide to young people. I am committed to helping to shape and guide the framework for the Y to reach as many young people as we can and create a future where safety and well-being is a given for all.”


Tegan Chick - Director

Tegan is a lawyer at Legal Aid, Western Australia. She previously held a position on the Governance and Risk Committee of the Y WA and is currently chair of the Education Regulatory Compliance Committee.

As an ex-employee of the Y, Tegan has a different insight into the workings of the organisation and brings a fresh new perspective to the board’s approach. Tegan has lived experience as a user of the Y facilities, and applies that knowledge and experience in her position on the board.

"Providing a safe and supportive environment for children and young people is imperative in ensuring that the power of inspired young people can be promoted, and flourish.  As a Board Director, I am committed to ensuring that all levels of the Y WA , including the Board, uphold our Safeguarding Children and Young People framework and that this vision flows through all limbs of the organisation”.


Trish Tebbutt - Director

Trish leads PwC’s Consulting Practice in Perth and the Health Practice in Western Australia and South Australia. She brings with her over 30 years healthcare experience in operational and strategic management in both the NHS and Health & Government Consulting. She specialises in large scale financial improvement and organisational reform projects, as well as mobilising and managing complex programs including their PMO function. Trish has led numerous major reconfiguration and transition programs both in Australia and internationally.

 

 

 


Penelope Harris- Director

Penelope is a Partner at Vialto Partners, the largest, independent global mobility company in the world, and is an experienced business person having worked within professional services for over 25 years, including as a Partner at PwC. She specialises in helping companies manage the complexities associated with moving employees across borders, and has worked in London, India, USA, and Australia, advising clients across a diverse range of industries. Penelope brings her breadth of experience and proven track record in developing strategies, driving major change initiatives, building businesses and leading complex projects. Penelope is a Chartered Accountant, a Fellow of the Tax Institute, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
