Taskforce

Like others across Australia, the Y WA Youth Parliament Program is organised and coordinated by a Taskforce of young volunteers who are passionate about the program and make Youth Parliament work!

Each Taskforce member has a particular role to play in planning, implementing, developing and promoting the program. In addition to this, many Taskforce members lead groups of participants as committee advisors and provide guidance throughout the bill-writing process.

Our Taskforce members devote large amounts of time and energy to deliver the program and lend their skills to ensure that it is as successful as possible. We are always on the lookout for new members to bring to the team so if you think that might be you, please contact us!

The 2025 Youth Parliament Taskforce is comprised of 15 dedicated young people. The Taskforce has three Senior Coordinators who report to the Program Coordinator and each oversees their own team of volunteers:

Marketing and Communications Team

  • Social Media Officer
  • External Communications Officer
  • Internal Communications Officer

Operations Team

  • Sponsorship Officer
  • Recreation and Wellbeing Officers (x2)
  • Inclusion and Accessibility Officer

Parliamentary Team

  • Education and Training Officers (x2)
  • Legislation Officers (x2)

There is also a Youth Governor elected from the previous year’s Taskforce to represent the Program in the community. The Youth Governor is part of Taskforce but does not sit under a specific team or a Senior Coordinator, and instead reports directly to the Program Coordinator.
