Centre Director: Ana Tamanui
Kia Ora! My Name is Ana and I am the Centre Director at YMCA Broome Early Learning Centre.
Kia Ora (Hello)
Ko Ana toku ingoa (My name is Ana)
No Aotearoa ahau (I am from New Zealand)
Ko Te Aitanga A Mahaki me Tuhoe oku Iwi (My tribes are Te Aitanga A Mahaki and Tuhoe)
Ko Herehereoma toku maunga (My mountain is Herehereoma)
Ko Mangatu toku awa (My river is Mangatu)
No reira tena koutou, tena koutou katoa (Thank you, see you soon)
I am ever so grateful to be here on Yawuru country and pay my respects and love to ancestors, elders, people present and future of the Yawuru Country we stand on.
My passion and love for children stems from my background and upbringing - my parents, ancestors, elders, tribe, culture, traditions, and large family all stressed the importance of looking after one another and nurturing our little ones.
I have been working in the childcare industry for over 14 years. I started in 2008, and was actually introduced to it by my Director at YMCA Gisborne, NZ, Karla! When I moved to Perth with my daughter, I went on a journey that included being an au pair nanny, in home childcare educator for Wanslea, and running a Family Childcare Service from home.
In addition to my experience in childcare, I have also have experience working in Disability and Mental Health.
You may have seen me around Broome from my work as a Volunteer Medical Responder for St John, or from Woolworths, where I work part time! I've enjoyed how these roles have allowed me to gain a sense of belonging within the community and a chance to get to know every individual person within the beautiful Broome community. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my partner, my daughter, and our big and small adopted fur balls Bonnie and Dudley.
I would like to thank you for trusting in me for nurturing and building a safe secure haven for your child.
I look forward to meeting you all soon.
